My first class-circuit training!
I told H I would not blog about our trip to the gym but I guess I lied. Gold's Gym kicked my ASS today. Yes, I know that is not the best word to use but hiney, bottom or butt do not fit what happened today. I went to the personal training class today and was lucky enough to have a friend join me. I figured it would be a great way to start out-not to much cardio like step or cycle. It has been after all a good 10 months since I have done ANY kind of exercise and to truly be honest I really didn't do much before that. So anyway....I got myself up and to class on time. Dropped off the three kids at the nursery and even bought a water (what was I thinking not bringing one!). The class began and I was ready. H and I were partners and we had 7 stations to complete. You were to do each for 1 minute and then switch. Ok...how bad can this be right??? Oh Sweet Heavens!! We started with jumping jacks, not regular ones, ones with 10-15 pound weights in each hand. I should have known at that point I was a whimp. H had told me weeks before she would run and push the double stroller in her neighborhood. Run! To quote K.F. I could only run 3 miles if the popo (I love this new word!) were chasing me and in reality I am pretty sure I would just go ahead and let them catch me! I was making progress through all 7 stations and even made it through the second round. We had an excellent trainer who would come by and encourage us all. The only thing I could not get over was when we did squats (with big honking weights of course!) she would say we had to sit like we were on the toilet. Now if any of you know me you know I have issues with the whole D word and potty talk but I forged ahead. Then the third round hit and about the 4th station I starting seeing spots. Here is Super Woman beside me with the 25 pound weight and me with a 10 and I am getting sick. I drank some water and wiped the mass amounts of sweat off my forehead. I swear I have not sweated like that since...I don't know...maybe highschool! Then I was getting dizzy. All I could think of was how embarrassed I was going to be when I passed out or threw up in the middle of this big fancy gym. I ended up sitting down right there simply because I knew I could not make it to the bathroom. I put my head between my knees and wiped the dripping sweat off my head. I simply wanted to disappear! Thank goodness the class was over. All the other woman went to walk on the treadmill (can we say I am a COMPLETE whimp!) and I crawled to the daycare to pick up my three babies and hide in my car with the air full blast to try and cool off. AGGHH...at least I didn't pass out. Right?? I made it home and am now a mer 5 hours later very sore BUT I will be back tomorrow! I am going to get this weight off no matter what!
